Icebreaker... clothes of champions... or something like that

This top is nice. The body fit is close and the gussets under the arms are great. Right out of the package it seemed to be itchy, but after a wash there was no itching at all. Keeps warm, wicks sweat, does all that it says it does. The neck is too loose and it could be a little longer on the tail. All in all it's a good product. |

Best Pants I've Ever Owned
02-04-09 ![]() |
I just got back from playing snow football after snow surfing, which was different. I wore a merino base layer and these pants. Being tackled many times these pants are durable and as soon as I got up, a slight dust of the legs and no snow no moisture. Oddly enough I fell and got a small strawberry on my knee but the pants didn't make a mark and it protected my merino from getting any rips. I missed the polar plunge today but was planning on wearing them for that. Pockets seated low works wonderful for a hip belt. The zippers seal good and keep snow out of pockets, but if they got anything in them the mesh would drain it fine. The belt loops are great and extremely low profile... absolutely no rough spots under hip belt. Blocks the wind great. Only thing I can think of that I would enjoy seeing but isn't necessary is a right back pocket. That's where I keep my wallet and there are no back pockets. Obviously in the back country... big deal. But I walk to class and work in rain or snow and will take my wallet with me. Super stretchy material for flex too. I have some serious moves in football because I wasn't wearing a bulky pair of coveralls like everyone else. These pants and merino layer for cold or just these when warm. Either way... Best Pants I've Ever Owned. I want a pair in black also. |

Kelty Ridge 2

This tent is well worth buying. The weight is wonderful, the space is good for 2 people and gear under the vestibules. The flashlight loop is handy. One odd point was that only one door had a tie to hold it when you rolled the door open. It came with really nice stakes which was unexpected. I had bought a set of groundhogs to go with it but there was no need for them once I got the tent. Vents well. Packs up smaller than specs; I think it is about 19in long by 6 1/2in. Well worth the buy. |

Merino Always Wins

These pants are great and Icebreaker puts out great products. These pants keep me warm, do not itch, wick sweat, and they fit snug. I do not prefer a bulky base layer and the next to the skin fit is perfect for me. There is much room to flex and move as needed. All around good product. I'll be buying another pair probably. |

Kelty Ridge 2 Footprint
11-18-08 ![]() |
The footprint has 4 female buckles on them that have no purpose because they do not fit any of the male buckles on the tent or fly. It seems that the buckles were put on for a fast fly option but after contacting Kelty, they confessed it was a worthless design. Size and weight were fine. I used an old tarp I had and cut it to fit the footprint and the vestibules. Much better option because it keeps your gear off the ground while under the vestibule. If you make your own be sure to keep it just shy of the actual size so rain doesn't puddle underneath the tent. |

Not Very Nice
03-12-09 ![]() |
I bought these and returned them. The sole of the boot was comfortable, but the upper of the boot dug into my ankle. This is not something that will go away with breaking these boots in. I have had much experience breaking in boots in the military, so I know this problem would not have went away. This may have been a problem with my pair only, but I'm not sure. Also, the first day the shoestring broke. It seems that I missed out on a good boot though, when these were made in Italy. I hope this helps. |

Does the job

There is nothing fancy about this pack cover. It works. There is a strap on mine that is useless, but thankfully it doesn't get in the way. I bought this cover for a H.A.W.G. pack and it is a little too tight when I have the pack and bladder full. I hope this helps. |

These socks breathe well and provide a little cushion for your feet. They will not fall down into your shoe. They don't take on stink. All around, once again, a great merino product. |

Ultralight, dig tight in the ground, durable, and I love the cord at the top for easy removal from the ground. They don't move unless you want them to. |

Could be much better

First of all... the description under the picture is different from the tech specs to the right. The insert glove is not Gore-tex as the description says. It is Gore Windstopper as the tech specs say. I asked someone before I bought them and they told me Gore-tex and when I received them they clearly were not. The shell is big and much bigger than I wanted. But, let me tell you this... they will keep you warm and dry if that is what you need. There is NO dexterity with these gloves. The is about 1/2 inch distance from your finger tip to the actual tip of the glove. So, you cannot use your finger tips. I got a pair that fit and the insert fit nicely. My hand fit nicely inside the shell. The outer layer of the shell was too long compared to the inner layer. Anyways, there is extra space in the finger tips which does not seem to be needed. There may be a purpose for that, but I cannot think of one. They are warm and keep you dry if you do not care to sacrifice almost all dexterity. The glove insert was nice to have for casual stuff though. I hope this helps. |

Good Stuff Sack
12-24-08 ![]() |
This is a nice stuff sack and it is not completely waterproof. The closure is designed to keep out water and it does for the most part. Submerge it for a little while and it will let water in. All in all it is worth the buy just know what you're buying. |
