Description of The North Face Skareb 65 Backpack - 3480cu in:
A backpack with all kinds of comfort features isn’t much good if it weighs ten pounds (empty). The North Face Skareb 65 Backpack combines X Radial suspension and a molded EVA back panel at a modest 3lb 12oz. Durable parachute nylon fabric shrugs off trail beatings, the molded E-Vap foam lumbar panel channels airflow while you hike, and the anatomically contoured hip-belt disperses load pressure. Stash rain gear in the large front stretch pocket and secure your trekking poles to the Spectra pole loops when you hit flat ground.

Bottom Line: Because it’s hard to keep weight down when your pack is heavy from the get-go.

| I've have used the original version of the Skareb for 3 or 4 years, and have always liked the suspension and feel of the pack. I was not a huge fan of the roll top, and in general the exterior of the pack was a bit busy. North Face seems to have solved all of this issues with the current Skareb. I usually have to spend quite a bit of time and 2 or 3 trips to really get the suspension dialed in, but on a recent trip to the Tetons, this pack felt just about perfect with very little adjustment. I also liked the larger size moving up to 65 liters. I really like the approach of building a lighter weight pack, but not sacrificing all of the durability, and still having a legitimate suspension. Very nicely done- still the great feel of the last generation, with nice updates to the back pannel and much cleaner pack body. They took my favorite pack and made it better. |
