The North Face Crestone 60 Backpack is a versatile pack for weekends in the woods, light mountaineering, or weeks of crashing in hostels. It's easy to adjust for comfortable carrying and easy to load though the top or side access panel. The X-Frame II suspension system floats on your hips and is pretty light on you wallet too. Of course it's loaded with North Face features including a removable hood that doubles as a lumbar pack, a separate zippered sleeping bag compartment, canted side water bottle holders, dual daisy chains and hydration compatibility.

| I bought this pack about a year ago and it has come with me on every camping and hiking trip that i have gone on. You will never regret this pack,it is insanely versitile and the perfect size. It has a great sleeping bag compartment built into the bottom that fits my Tressles great (A synthetic marmot bag, so it does not compress as much as down and still fits.) the only thing that i ever have to actually strap to my pack is my thermarest because ALL of my gear fits nicely in the bag. Once the sleeping bag is in, there is a thin pull string opperated fabric that divides the main compartment from the sleeping bag section, of course if you wish you can just open that up if you prefer one huge compartment. I own a Vario 23 tent (highly recommended) that compacts down to football size and just goes in my pack. but for any tent, you can take the poles out and they will fit in the bag because there are two holes in the 'floor' of the main compartment that goes to the botttom of the bag. all in all , not the lightest bag in the world, but you wont get a better bag for the price! |

| I purchased the North Face Crestone 60 Backpack Large Version from backcountry.com for a 2-day hike in Joshua Tree National Parl. I walked the California Riding and Hiking Trail for 36 miles. I had a pretty heavy load, I would say 30 to 35 lbs. The North Face Crestone handled it very well. I have to say that the pack itself is a bit on the heavy side (approximately 6 lbs). It is a good balanced backpack that offer a lot of adjustments. I am not sure that I carried it properly the whole way because my shoulders hurt a lot after the first day. I like the two side pockets where I had stored 2 bottles of water. It also has a sleeve for a hydration reservoir (mine is 2.5 liters), a large outside pocket that is easy to access (perfect for maps, sun screen etc...) and a few other nice features. One thing I am not a fan of is the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom: my sleeping bag is a North Face Cat Meow (Large) and I had a hard time inserting it through the bottom opening. When it was time to get it out, I couldn't, it was stuck (even though it had been compressed as much as I possibly could). So I had to take it out through the top, no big deal.
Bottom line: for the price, it is an excellent weekend pack with plenty of nice features and built to last. |

| Got this pack for Christmas awhile back and it is awesome. Spacious, easily accessible, comfortable, and organized. I have packed it as full as I possibly could and went out for a weekend with a friend who could not carry anything because of shoulder surgery and I really didnt even mind carrying the extra weight it was so comfortable. |
