Description of Petzl Tactikka Plus Headlamp:
|
The Petzl TacTikka Plus is a tactical version of the popular Tikka Plus Headlamp. It has all of the great features including 4 LEDs instead of 3, a push on/off button instead of a slider switch, a tiltable housing, and 3 brightness settings with strobe function. These features have been combined with a red lens that easily flips down over the LED's for night vision. It is also water-resistant for all-weather use. The 150-hour burn time and durability of the LED makes the TacTikka Plus reliable. It doesn't throw out huge candlepower (33ft or 10m), making it ideal for activities requiring close-up lighting like trail hiking, setting up camp, and reading. The TacTikka Plus runs on 3 AAA batteries (included), and at 2.5 ounces, weighs next to nothing in your pack.

|
Bottom Line: The TacTikka Plus gives you night vision.

| I had one of these headlamps for 3 years...it went on a 5 week trip to the rain forest in Costa Rica and two cross-country cycling trips, as well as many short camping trips and some night fishing in between. I loved it...until it misplaced me somewhere in the middle of nowhere Nevada towards the end of the second cross-country cycling trip. The first thing I did when I made it back into civilization was to get myself another one.
At the time I lost my original Tactikka Plus, it was just about ready for a battery swap out...and that's after 3 years of use...not too shabby. My favorite feature of this headlamp is the flip-down red lens, since it's great for protecting your night vision and bugs aren't as attracted to it as white light. Yeah, you can buy a cheaper Petzl headlamp and then get different colored lenses (red, green, etc), but this one's built in so you don't run the chance of losing any small parts. I also love the flash mode, which I've used in the rain while cycling in addition to my bike blinky lights...which brings me to another point and that's that this headlamp, while not waterproof, is DEFINITELY water resistant.
Honestly, can't get much better than this headlamp. |

| This is a great product! Very lightweight and being able to angle it helps a lot. Also being able to change how bright the light is makes it nice so it doesn't totally kill your nightvision. |

| so I bought this for the trail and hunting, so far I have used this thing more at home than outdoors. Things like working on an electrical outlet in a dark room, looking for a cat at night outdoors, walking the dog at night. It is just a handy tool!! I cant wait to try it in the woods, but so far I have gotten my moneys worth!! A best buy item. |
