Description of Marmot PreCip Jacket - Women's:
|
The Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket is legendary. It protects you from Mother Nature's wiles with lightweight waterproof Precip fabric, and it's so light and packable, it won't take up much space in your backpack as a just-in-case shell. Marmot's Angel Wing Movement gives you plenty of room in the arms and chest and a women's specific fit prevents that boxy look. Underarm vents circulate air to keep you cool, and an adjustable hood provides shelter when you need to batten down the hatches.

Bottom Line: Leave second-guessing to the weatherman—always take along this perennial favorite.

I wound up wearing this as weather system Hannah (or maybe it was Ike) blew through the upper reaches of the East Coast. I was on an island in the middle of a lake that straddles the border of Maine and New Hampshire. It was windy and wet and I was SOOO glad that I bought this before the trip. My upper body stayed dry. The pit zips kept me unsweaty, though with them closed, it's breathable but I don't know if it qualifies as "the most breathable" - I'm guessing there's something a touch better. The pockets were big enough to hold small rolls of toilet paper (what a pain going to the latrine that night) and my flashlight. My lower body was wishing that I got the pants. And now that I'm not on an island, I regularly wear this out and about. Oh, I'm usually a petite. I got the extra small and it's a touch big with just a t-shirt on but is nice because I can wear layers underneath it and it fits perfect. Great jacket!

Excellent Jacket 01-07-08

I live in Vancouver, BC and it pours with rain for about 6 months of the year (all winter). That's the bonus of living in a rainforest, but having good rain gear is super important. This might be the best rain jacket I've ever owned. Light, well-cut, folds into it's own pocket, pitzips and excellent, non-clammy breathable totally waterproof - it's been great! The sizing is quite accurate and is cut to fit over a fleece or softshell (since the jacket is really light).

BEST JACKET for keeping you DRY! 01-12-09

I bought this jacket to tour around the Andes in Peru during December (the start of the rainy season). Once I received the jacket, I worried that it may be too thin. As I started trekking in Peru, I realized what a great investment this jacket was. The jacket has great velcro sleeves to adjust to whatever width you needed it to be. The bottom of the jacket has a pulley cord to ensure no water would seem through. Overall, this jacket worked wonders for me and it was so easy to travel with because it is lightweight. I could roll it up and put it in my backpack with no hassles. It dries very quickly and now i use it for running as a wind breaker... Highly recommended.
