Description of Mammut Lucido TXLite Headlamp:
|
At only 2.5 ounces, there’s no reason not to throw the Mammut TXLite Headlamp in your pack for everything from multi-pitch rock routes to long day hikes. The single, superbright LED features three different brightness settings, a tiltable housing, and a lightweight, easy-adjust band for full minimalist functionality.

|
Bottom Line: One of the ten essentials you don’t want to leave behind.

| what you're paying for is the weight. it's light, as in it doesnt weigh much. i could see this as an advantage if youre using this on night runs or if you're packing for a camping trip and weight is critical. but it's not waterproof nor is the light output the greatest at this pricepoint. even at SAC prices, there are better options out there if you are not a weight weeny.
i was using this as a headlamp while biking. but had to remove it from my helmet every time it rained. i ended up replacing it with a Tikka 2 Plus. the tikka has more features and is waterproof.
BTW. the description says that it has 3 brightness settings. mine only has 2; bright and brighter. are they counting OFF as a brightness setting? or does the updated version have 3 settings? |

| Pretty simple headlamp with three modes- bright, brighter and flash. My only complaint is the strap doesn't get big enough to fit my head with a beanie. Maybe I have a big head? |

| I work in the ER and I keep this in my work bag. Sometimes I can't find a speculum light for pelvic exams, and the fiberoptic headlamp is huge and bulky. This thing works like a champ. Batteries last forever. Highly recommended. |
