Description of Kelty Trail Dome Tent 4-Person 3-Season:
|
The Kelty Trail Dome 4 Tent offers ample space for four weary hikers, and keeps them cool during the warmest of summer nights with its extremely well-ventilated design. If rain decides to accompany you on your trip, you'll stay dry with the Trail Dome's seam-taped fly, which is easy to install on-the-fly with its buckle connection to the tent body. Complete with gear loft loops, the Trail Dome allows its residents to store gear where it won't interfere with sleep. Taped floor seams increase the likelihood that the night's rain won't become the fifth occupant of the tent

|
Bottom Line: Well-ventilated yet stormworthy, this is a versatile shelter indeed.

| Great tent, unless it rains 03-07-08 |

| Great tent overall, for the price. It's one major weakness is that it doesn't have a full coverage rain fly ( what's up with that anyway???) and the "bare spots" on the tent get soaked through pretty fast in even a moderate rain. |

| Poles bend easily - poor ventilation. 12-10-09 |

| Let me start by saying that overall I like this tent; however, the first time I used it one of the poles bent excessively at the mid-section. Kelty was prompt at exchanging the pole, but the hassle of paying for and shipping the pole was a pain. I went to the local hardware store and purchased a couple of 3.5" long hollow tubes to slide over the poles for added reinforcement for next time. If you want a breeze or want to watch the stars from inside the tent this is not the tent for you. Not much in the way of openings. |

| Decent THREE man tent 02-23-09 |

| Hard to chose a star rating because we've yet to use it BUT don't expect to fit 4 in here unless you're short and cozy. 6'8" across? No way. I'm 5'11" and lying on my back with toes pointing up, my head and heels are tight to the walls. Box says 6'8" x 8'3". I measure 68"x84". Three lengthwise will work but there won't be a ton of room left. Luckily we bought it as a 3 man! Also, as another reviewer said, the door zip gets pulled quite tight at the top of the door. Hope the zipper lasts. The fly covers pretty well but does not quite overhang the entire door. Not ideal in heavy rain. A good tent when on a good sale though. |
