Great energy chews 04-22-10

Probably my favorite tasting of the energy chews - I can't stand gu/gel, just grosses me out. These are no-nonsense, taste great, pretty easy to chew (chase with water, as all energy chews). My only bone to pick is about the packaging. It's kind of hard to mess with and open when I'm running. At a half marathon a couple of weeks ago I actually couldn't get that side opening to rip open because my hands were numb. But that's really my only problem with them. They're a staple in my long distance training.

Well Worth it 04-17-10

So i've got a little bit of a gag reflex when it comes to energy gels. So i saw these Chomps and thought why not. Well i was happily surprised. There are a bunch of gummy's in each pack. They strawberry ones are awesome. I have yet to use all the gummy's on one road bike ride. I used about a half a bag (4-5 gummy's) on a 50 miler the other day and they work awesome. I would use them hiking and biking. Not so much for running for me, because you have to chew and swallow. But i prefer them now over energy gels. Get the ones with caffine, they pack a punch!!!

growing on you 04-13-10

At first I didnt really like them. Thought they where too sweet. I still find them a little too sweet, but at least I can easily eat 3 of them either during a mountain biking trip or afterwards. Hard to say if they give that much of an effect, but then again if you make yourself believe that it works, it probably does. Never underestimate the psychological effect it can have on you :) Bottomline: I seem to carry them around more and more often...
