Unsure about Side Kick bag 12-06-09

I purchased an Eagle Greek Travel Gear bag that looks almost identical to the Side Kick 8 years ago and love it. It was getting worn out since I use it for my everyday purse. It was both a shoulder bag and a fanny pack. I hoped this new Side Kick would be an updated and close to the same bag. I like the fact it is a combo hip bag/shoulder bag. I like the number of compartments BUT it is to narrow on the bottom. The old one has at least another inch of base. By the time you get a wallet & check book in the one side there is no room for anything else except small loose things toward the sides. THe pockets on the outside have NO ROOM to expand. Lip balm, eye drops, small hand sanitizers etc are hard to put in. If using this as a hip bag while walking there is no room for even a small water bottle. The side section with the phone pouch etc really needs to have more width to the bottom. It would make a huge difference. Maybe it will stretch a little but I'm not counting on it - the fabric doesn't appear to be one that will eventually loosen up.
