Description of Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad:
|
The Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 is the lightest, most compact, four-season self-inflating mattress ever made. The ProLite line of mattresses belongs to the Fast & Light Series from Therm-a-Rest. They are engineered to accommodate those who need to carry everything to survive—from alpinists to adventure racers and long-distance backpackers. Therm-a-Rest's proprietary foam is 20% lighter and traps more air than previous models, making it warmer and far easier to carry. The ProLite 4 is thick enough for four-season use, and features a sticky-dot non-slip surface that ensures your mattress stays put for a full night's sleep. Compatible with the Lite Chair Kit for added backcountry comfort. Pair it up with a Fast & Light Stuff Sack for protection and portability.

|
Bottom Line: The ultimate in lightweight, compressible, four-season sleep systems for backcountry addicts.

| ProLite 4 for Size and Comfort 06-22-04 |
Mathguy2pir (1): |
| I must say that I am very impressed with the new ProLite 4. I've slept on air mattresses before and have never really cared much for them, but the ProLite 4 has shattered my preconceived notions. I went with the ProLite 4 initially for two reasons, the length and the weight.
I'm 6'3" and normally have trouble finding a mattress that my feet don't hang off of, so you can imagine how pleased I was when I came across the Large ProLite 4.
I'm also very happy with the weight and compressed size of the mattress. When carrying a backpack for days, the lighter and more compact an item is the better. With the ProLite 4, I not only have a light and compressed pad, but an extremely comfortable place to rest. After a long day on the trail, a nice comfortable sleeping pad is just what the doctor ordered and this one is the best in my opinion. I highly recommend this pad; it's worth the extra few dollars.

| How much for a good night's sleep? 10-26-04 |

| Go buy your bargain pad if you must. For me, a good night's sleep is well worth paying for a top-shelf product. The ProLite 4 keeps me warm and comfortable but still packs down to the size of a loaf of bread. Be sure to get the stuff sack. |

| Great! 08-18-04 |

| I'm a big guy who has used several inflatable sleep pads, none of which I thought were worth the crap. They weren't that comfortable, and I'd wake-up in the middle of the night to reinflate the darn things. I bought a regular Therm-a-rest sleep pad, which was comfortable, however it was too big. I saw a display for the new ProLite 4 in a store and checked it out. It was great! I bought it through Backcountry and have used it several times since then with wonderful results. I'm not too happy about the neon orange color, but nothing is perfect. Another thing that's great about it is the stuff sack that I also bought. The whole thing can be wrapped up in a bag the size of two fists. I strongly recommend this product. |
